I visited Hartley's Crocodile Farm today and learnt a lot about crocs 🐊 I have been touristing a lot on this trip, which is not usual for me, but I booked some extra days to explore this area as I've never been here before!Some facts:🐊 Freshwater Crocodiles and Saltwater Crocodiles can both live in fresh and saltwater, but they both prefer freshwater.🐊 Crocodiles are cold blooded so they don't need to eat so much, of course it's size dependant but 1/2 a chicken a week is enough for most of them but the biggest one here eats 5 chickens a week.🐊 The temperature the eggs are at decides the gender of the crocodile. At 32 degrees C, they are born male and temperatures above and below that they are born female.🐊 Crocodiles can live up to 70 years old 🐊 Crocodiles have been on this planes for 200 Million years🐊 Crocodiles are known for having the strongest bite force in the animal kingdom, with saltwater crocodiles boasting the highest recorded bite force of 3,700 PSI
